8 Weeks and Going Strong

As you can see, Talia is learning to be quite expressive and entertaining. Yesterday marked the most "talking" she has ever done in one sitting. It was obvious that she was just experimenting with different types of sounds that she could possibly make. And she continues to be a looker, too, when we're out in public.

This week was crammed full of activities again, which is helping to improve her day/night awareness. On Monday and Tuesday, her and Mom came out to watch Dad's losing softball performance in the annual summer Dow softball league tournament. Hopefully, Talia being a better cheerleader next year will put my team over the top. On the same day, her and Mom made a stop over lunch at Pizza Sam's in downtown Midland to meet up with some friends from work. On Wednesday, we all went on our weekly picnic lunch outing to a little place called Glencoe Park in Midland. And last but not least, Friday and Saturday marked Talia's first trip away from home - more to come on that later....

Also this week, Talia has come a long way in maintaining body control. She has started to turn on her side while laying down - she just hasn't figured out yet that she can move the arm that's underneath her, so she can only make it part-way on her side. She also has good control of her head now, which you can see in her 8-week update picture below (top) compared to the 4-week update picture.

Until next time....

- Mike
