A Theatrical Weekend

Talia was very cultured this weekend, taking in two shows in the mid-Michigan area!

Friday night, we took Talia to see Annie at the Midland Center for the Arts. We borrowed the movie from a friend a few weeks ago and have been playing it off an on to get her interested. When we told her we were going to the show on Friday evening, she immediately requested to "wear an Annie dress" and then helped Daddy pick one out. She didn't feel the first few he picked accurately portrayed Annie, but then settled on this one. Haha! She loved the performance and has been singing "Tomorrow" since.

On Saturday morning, we took Talia to see Sesame Street Live in Saginaw. She LOVED the show and even got up during the second half to dance along to some of the songs.

Dow Run/Walk last weekend

Last weekend, Mommy and Daddy ran in the annual Dow race in Midland. Talia helped Mommy run the 5K and Daddy ran the 10K. Talia was an angel in her stroller during the race - later we realized it was likely because she was exhausted and fighting the onset of the summer flu..........

Mommy & Talia: 7/8th place, 24:58

Daddy: 9th place, 49:05

Talia in the Tulips

We stopped by Dow Gardens this morning on our way to the Farmer's Market. We wanted to snap a few shots of Talia in the tulips. We had no idea she would be as ecstatic as she was! She ran around like she was in some sort of candyland, squealing and jumping.....

You'll notice she's smelling the tulips in several shots. This was Mommy's creative way of getting her to stop running long enough for a picture:)

Saginaw Zoo!

Last Saturday, Talia visited the Children's Zoo in Saginaw. What fun! The first animal she spotted was a wolf. She was so excited to pose by the wolf, I thought we'd never even get to see the realy animals:)

We eventually moved on.....

After visiting with all of the animals, we took Talia on 2 rides.

Choo Choo Train = FUN!

Carousel = NOT FUN:)

Rain, Snow - Go Away!

This weekend has been brutal. Windy, cold, rainy, SNOWY........ so we spent the day yesterday at the Butterfly House and the Midland Center for the Arts Museum. Talia had a great time trying to catch more 'buh-flies', seeing 'big disours', 'fin-ing fossuls', and just simply running around!

Butterflies 2011!

Talia made her annual visit to the Butterfly House at Dow Gardens on Sunday. Uncle Ben joined in the fun too! She was slightly excited when they landed but slightly afraid when they were flying:)

Hands-On Museum

We were suppose to be in Louisiana this weekend visiting friends. It didn't work out...... so we had to find something fun to replace it! We decided to book a hotel on Friday night and drove to Ann Arbor for some excitement. Uncle Ben met us on Saturday morning at the Hands-On Museum and we spent hours in the preschool room. See for yourself how much fun we had!

Shrine Circus

This morning, we went to the Shrine Circus in Saginaw with three other families. The whole way there, Talia talked about the "sick-us". She eventually warmed up to the elephants and seemed to enjoy watching the tigers and performing pigs. Our attempts to get up-close-and-personal on the arena floor with the circus though were not successful:) Talia was deathly afraid of the clowns and the blow-up animals.....

Pittsburgh Weekend

Talia spent her long birthday weekend in Pittsburgh visiting Grandma, Pappy, Aunt Lee Ann, Uncle Dan, and cousin Madelyn. She had a lot of firsts: 1) trip to the zoo, 2) chocolate cake, 3) encounter with llamas and goats, 4) dip in the kiddie pool!

While we were in the area, we snuck in a visit with our friends, Rosalie and Chris, who live in Pittsburgh. It was the first time for them to meet Talia and for us to meet their cutie, Imogen (2 years old). The girls had a great time - we'll probably have to buy Tally a grocery cart soon....

First Trip to the Zoo

Talia visited the Pittsburgh Zoo last Friday! She is definitely an animal lover and had a blast. It was a hot day, but the wagon came in handy once again and successfully kept little Miss T and Miss M shaded all day. In fact, Miss Maddy even used it for a bed at one point during the day:)
