On Saturday, we decided to make a day trip to the beach! We invited Uncle Ben to come along, and packed up the car to venture north to Tawas City. About an hour and a half drive and we felt like we were on vacation. The beach in East Tawas is beautiful. White sand, refreshing water (Lake Huron), the peaceful sound of waves, and a little girl basking in her first experience with sand! Yes - that's sand on her toungue above...... she decided to throw her normal tantrum when it was time for a diaper change. Note: Folding yourself in half on the beach results in sand in the eyes, nose, and mouth.
The quaint lighthouse on Tawas Point.
Talia worked and worked in the sand as if she had a very important job to do. She loved her shovel, but tended to "stick" it in the sand more so than use it to shovel sand. She spent about 1.5 hours on the beach before lunch and naptime, and then another 1.5 hours after she awoke.
