Talia is a very fun little girl at two years old. Here are just a few tidbits about her:
She has a very loving personality and always knows what she wants. She sings constantly and will even make-up songs to describe what she's doing sometimes. She runs from point A to point B (no walking), no matter how short the distance may be. She knows her ABCs (by sight), her colors, her shapes, her prayers, counts to 20, and can almost spell her first name with tubby letters!
For the past month, Talia has been very adamant about doing things herself. She wants no help on the stairs, wants to pull her wagon / push her stroller on walks, help mommy garden, get her own drink from the refrigerator, prepare her bath, wash herself in the tub, buckle herself in her seat, etc. She has mastered nearly everything she wants to do (key word = wants); she continues to have limited interest in potty training, dressing/undressing herself (you know, things Mommy/Daddy want instead).
She takes a single nap each day for about 2-3 hours. On weekdays, we wake her at 7AM and bedtime is 9:30PM. On weekends, she's usually awake around 8:30AM. She'll go without a nap without any trouble if Mommy & Daddy do not force it. Similarly, she'll stay awake until after midnight with no trouble if the bedtime routine is not forced. Her routine before bedtime is like clockwork and there are no struggles. Mommy & Daddy pick 2 books, we snuggle on the couch to read them and Talia requests that "Daddy take me up" when finished. On the way up the steps, she calls out "I love you Mama", followed by requests to Daddy for her "green baba" and "Rock a Baby". Daddy lays her down and sings Rock a Bye Baby twice and leaves her to fall asleep quietly.
