Talia - 43 Weeks

Talia's 42nd week was a rough one - for the entire family. Daddy stayed home with a 24-hour bug on Tuesday, Mommy started feeling yucky Thursday, and Tally had her very first visit to the emergency room Friday night........
Diagnosis? PNEUMONIA

Tally started with a bit of a cough Thursday morning. By Thursday afternoon, she was running a slight fever (100+). Luckily, we had an appointment at the doctor on Thursday afternoon for a follow-up for her ear infections and eye problem. No more ear infections, no more eye problems, but wheezing. They shipped her home with an inhaler and instructions to watch her closely. Friday, the cough got worse and by Friday night, we decided to take a trip in to the emergency room. Her fever was then running 103. After 3+ hours of monitoring, oxgyen delivery, and a chest x-ray, we were discharged with a handful of prescriptions to fill.
So, Tally's back on breathing treatments every 4 hours plus amoxillicilin (AGAIN) and motrin to control her fever. Poor girl is going to start to think the "pink stuff" is one of the basic food groups soon. She's starting to feel a bit better today, but the past few have been rough. All she wants is to be cuddled and even then she moans. Sleep does not come easily, even in Mommy & Daddy's last resort (swing). Let's just say the whole family is pooped.
On the good front, Talia is learning more every week. Her word association grows daily - some new words: Ball, Horsie, Car. Her very favorite word to say right now is "Ma-Ma", which she says while looking at Mommy and while looking at other things:) And, astonishingly, even with pneumonia, she got up on all fours this afternoon to take one big creep towards Mommy!
Here are a few pictures to recap our week. The first are from last Sunday pre-Diffendal-sicknesses and the last are of our poor sick little girl yesterday.
